%X RESUMENObjetivos: realizar una revisi¨®n sistem¨¢tica de la literatura a trav¨¦s de la selecci¨®n y an¨¢lisis de art¨ªculos cient¨ªficos que hayan investigado los efectos del empleo de las f¨¦rulas, para la funcionalidad de la mano del ni o que padece par¨¢lisis cerebral.M¨¦todos: se efectu¨® una b¨²squeda sistem¨¢tica en la literatura de referencia en el periodo que va de junio a noviembre de 2006, en las bases de datos de Pub M¨¦d y de OT Seeker, publicados en las lenguas inglesa, espa ola y francesa.Resultados: los dos art¨ªculos incluidos en esta revisi¨®n reunieron todos los requisitos suficientes, aunque no presentan una diferencia estad¨ªsticamente significativa para el efecto del empleo de las f¨¦rulas para la funcionalidad de la mano del ni o que sufre par¨¢lisis cerebral.Conclusiones: los art¨ªculos evaluados en esta revisi¨®n se presentan consistentes en relaci¨®n al dise o metodol¨®gico. Sin embargo, los textos abordan el empleo de las f¨¦rulas asociado a otra intervenci¨®n o tratamiento y suministran informaciones m¨ªnimas en lo referente a la importancia de su empleo. De esta forma, los resultados presentados no son suficientes para soportar el efecto del uso exclusivo de f¨¦rulas en el ni o con par¨¢lisis cerebral en la mejor¨ªa de la funcionalidad de su mano. ABSTRACTObjectives: to carry through systematic revision of literature through the election and analysis of scientific articles that had investigated the effect of the use of splint for functionality of the hand of the child with cerebral palsy.Methods: a systematic search in literature was carried through in the period of June the November of 2006, in the databases Pub M¨¦d and OT Seeker, published in the languages English, Spanish and French.Results: the two enclosed articles in this revision had filled all the inclusion criteria, however do not present significant difference for the effect of the use of splint for the functionality of the hand of the child with cerebral palsy.Conclusions: The articles evaluated in this revision, are presented in relation to the methodological drawing. However the texts approach the use of splint associated to the other intervention or treatment and present minimum information of the importance of its use. Thus, the presented results are not enough to support the effect of the exclusive use of splint in the child with cerebral palsy in the improvement of the functionality of the hand.
