%X El prop車sito de este trabajo es reflexionar sobre las implicaciones 谷ticas, legales y sociales que tiene para la mujer ser diagnosticada con la infecci車n de VIH/sida. Una vez realizada la prueba de diagn車stico de VIH, existen 2 tipos de implicaciones morales fundamentales: la implicaci車n del paciente al recibir el resultado y la responsabilidad del personal m谷dico al informar este. La falta de equidad de g谷nero derivada de una sociedad tradicionalmente machista, le impone a la mujer una mayor vulnerabilidad social para contraer el virus del VIH, y una vez que ha contra赤do esta infecci車n, sufre los numerosos estigmas relacionados con la enfermedad. La infecci車n de VIH/sida en la mujer tiene probadas implicaciones 谷ticas, legales y sociales que provocan un impacto desfavorable en la sociedad. Al parecer, queda un camino largo a transitar antes que una mujer con esta condici車n, obtenga y disfrute de todos los derechos legales y sociales. The objective of this paper was to examine the ethical, legal and social implications of HIV/AIDS diagnosis for women. Once the HIV test is made, there are two kinds of moral implications, namely, the implication from the reception of the test results, and the responsibility of the medical staff in charge of informing the patient. The lack of gender equity derived from the traditional machismo in the society brings greater social vulnerability for the women in terms of catching the HIV virus, and once they get infected, they suffer numerous disease-related stigmas. The HIV/AIDS infection in women has proven ethical legal and social implications that have unfavorable impact on the society. It seems that a long distance remains to be covered until a woman with this health condition can reach and exercise all the due legal and social rights.
