%X O fio condutor deste estudo ser¨¢ o terceiro est¨¢gio do desenvolvimento intelectual de L¨¦vinas, chamado per¨ªodo ¨¦tico, desenvolvido, sobretudo, na obra Autrement qu¡¯¨ºtre ou au-del¨¤ de l¡¯essence (1974). Mostraremos que a proposta filos¨®fica de L¨¦vinas consiste em uma tentativa de reconstru  o da no  o de subjetividade humana, perpassada por uma intriga ¨¦tica entre o Mesmo e Outro, em que o Outro n o se reduz ao Mesmo. Neste sentido, propomos uma ressignifica  o da raz o e do seu papel, a partir de um fundamento primeiro e anterior ao Logos grego que ¨¦ ¨¦tica. A raz o passa, ent o, de uma postura de apreens o e dom¨ªnio (amor a sabedoria) para uma condi  o de acolhimento (sabedoria da paz/palavra), desfazendo, assim, a ideia que a capacidade de conhecer implica apreens o e posse de dados. Defenderemos, portanto, que a ¨¦tica tem a fun  o de resgatar o sentido da raz o e da filosofia, atrav¨¦s de uma nova maneira de situar a subjetividade como responsabilidade por Outrem e n o como anula  o ou simetria deste pelo Mesmo. The thread of this study will be the third stage of intellectual development of L¨¦vinas, the period called ethical, developed mainly in the work Autrement qu'¨ºtre ou au-del¨¤ de l'essence. We will show that L¨¦vinas¡¯ philosophical proposal is an attempt to reconstruct the notion of human subjectivity, going through an ethical intrigue between the Same and Other, in which the Other is not reducible to the Same. Therefore, we propose a redefinition of reason and its role, from a prime fundament prior to the Greek Logos which is word (ethics). Reason then changes from an attitude of concern and domain (love of wisdom) into a condition for acceptance (the wisdom of peace / word), thereby undoing the idea that the ability to learn involves seizing and holding data. We therefore propose that ethics has the task of rescuing the sense of reason and philosophy, through a new way of situating subjectivity as responsibility for Others and not as a cancellation or symmetry of the Self.
