%X During the 2009.2 semester of the discipline Literature in English Language: Drama from the Letters Course of State University of Cear¨¢, the play Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett was adapted to a 20-minute sketch entitled Waiting for Deusimar. A documentary was also made reporting the initial discussions in classroom, the making of, the conception of the scenery, performance and final discussions. With such a proposal, we aimed at using the studies that understand adaptation as translation, revealing that form a source text the translators responsible for the adaptation task are involved in a project of creation. This way, the text, the discussions, the photography, the performance, the filming, the edition, the documentary itself are valid elements for the understanding of the translated product and as such, all of them m ay figure as corpora for the analysis of the translation task and consequent prob-lematization of their authors, our subjects. We concluded that adaptation understood as a translation task is a relevant pedagogical tool when learning is undertaken as a free space of construction in which the students may mark themselves as knowledge producers. Durante a disciplina Literatura Inglesa: Drama, ministrada no curso de Letras da Universidade Estadual do Cear¨¢ em 2009.2, foi realizada a adapta  o da pe a Esperando Godot de Samuel Beckett, encenada como um sketch de 20 minutos com o t¨ªtu-lo Esperando Deusimar. Foi tamb¨¦m realizado um document¨¢rio que relatou desde as discuss es em sala de aula at¨¦ a confec  o do cen¨¢rio, encena  o e discuss es finais. O objetivo foi utilizar os estudos que tomam a adapta  o como uma tradu  o, revelando que a partir de um texto fonte os sujeitos res-pons¨¢veis pela tarefa adaptativa, tamb¨¦m compreendidos como sujeitos tradutores, empreitam um projeto de cria  o. Dessa forma, o texto, as discuss es, a fotografia, a encena  o, a filmagem, a edi  o, o document¨¢rio finalizado s o ele-mentos v¨¢lidos para o entendimento do produto tradut¨®rio e como tal todos eles podem figurar como corpora para a an¨¢lise da tarefa de tradu  o e consequente problematiza  o de seus autores, nossos su-jeitos. Conclu¨ªmos que a adapta  o entendida como uma tarefa tradut¨®ria ¨¦ uma relevante ferramenta pedag¨®gica, uma vez que potencializa a aprendizagem como espa o ativo de constru  o em que os alunos possam se marcar como produtores de conhecimento.
