%X This paper depicts the "rule of law" and legal order in the organization of labour in a Prisoner of war camp set up pursuant to the 1949 Third Geneva Convention regime. The paper shows that direct comparison is possible and that there is a correlation between the organization of labour law in peacetime and the rights and privileges provided to prisoners of war. The prisoner of war camp does not descend into a vacuum of anarchy. There is a complete legal structure to supplant the ordinary peacetime rules. The "rule of law" concept runs on a continuum throughout both peace and war.
