The text is constructed from the voices of four subjects from brazilian social movements: two members of black communities descended from slaves, called ¡°quilombos¡±, and two participants of the Movement of Landless Workers (MST). The four testimonials serve as the basis for reflections about the relationship between different types of knowledge, and the appropriation of formal education, as possible paths for the process of social emancipation. %U http://ler.letras.up.pt/uploads/ficheiros/10759.pdf
