While the status of literary education has dramaticallychanged in recent years, the tradition of literary education in Czech schooling systemremains very firm. Fact-oriented, literary-historical, scientific. A contradictorytradition has been crystallizing for almost a hundred years ¨C an innovative approachthat can be described as interpretative, reader-oriented, experiential. Both approachesdiffer the most with respect to high school education, however, traditional approach,by nature, also influences lower elementary education.
