In order to accomplish this, a questionnaire was used in a sample of 1.168 executives and workers in 48 organizations, which had different sizes and belonged to different industrial sectors. The members of the survey group coincidentally identified knowledge management as a strategy to generate value and to strengthen the competitive advantages in the organizations. However, this positive perception is noticed mainly in factors related to organizational culture and memory rather than in factors related to internal organizational capacities. The obtained results were obtained from the application of two research tools, the knowledge management questionnaire and the IMIO Matrix. El art赤culo refleja un estudio exploratorio en Bogot芍, Colombia, orientado a establecer en qu谷 medida se hace Gesti車n del Conocimiento para generar valor agregado en las organizaciones. Se aplic車 un formato de encuesta a 1.168 personas (directivos y trabajadores) en 48 empresas de diferentes tama os y sectores industriales. Los entrevistados coincidieron en identificar la gesti車n del conocimiento como una estrategia en la generaci車n de valor y en el fortalecimiento de las ventajas competitivas de las compa 赤as. Sin embargo, esta percepci車n positiva se manifiesta principalmente en factores relacionados con la cultura y la memoria organizacional m芍s que en aspectos referidos a las capacidades internas de las firmas.
