We propose here to use a regu-larized inversion scheme for interpretation of magnetometric resistivitydata gathered from a horizontally stratied layered earth. An iterativescheme using the regularized conjugate gradient method is applied to es-timate the conductivity parameters of the ground. The L-curve criterionis used to determine a suitable value of the regularization parameter. The final inverted model obtained is qualitatively in good agreementwith the real model from synthetic data. A comparison of inversionresults obtained from our scheme, conventional conjugate gradient andLevenberg-Marquardt methods on a test data set clearly demonstratesan edge over the other two stated schemes as far as the robustness isconcerned. The scheme described here has been successfully used forgeophysical inversion of magnetometric resistivity data. %K inverse problem %K magnetometric resistivity %K regularization %U http://www.m-hikari.com/astp/astp2013/astp1-4-2013/sripanyaASTP1-4-2013.pdf
