%X In addition to publishing ten novels that make up the cycle Far North and the work Linha do Parque, Dalc¨ªdio Jurandir (1909-1979) contributed several newspapers and magazines of the Brazilian press as a reporter, columnist and art critic. Among these journals, is the Diretrizes, a weekly that circulated in Rio de Janeiro from 1938 to 1949. What stood out most in this newspaper was the presence of a fixed column - Literary Front, in which the paraense writer appears as an art critic. Therefore, the objective of this work is verify the critical contribution of Dalc¨ªdio Jurandir for that journal, trying to observe until the author¡¯s opinion about the Literature, unfolded in the technique used by him in his fictional universe. To do this, was selected three novels of the writer: Chove nos campos de Cachoeira, Maraj¨® e Linha do Parque.
