Research publications (RP) are getting higher importance as different views of any particular aspect are easily obtained. Hence assessing the quality of such Research Documents is very important. Quality determination of any article or Journal is widely assessed in terms of Impact Factor. Despite the publisher, Journal type, etc any article or journal should be quality graded based only on the semantics, content, proposed work, performance and evaluation. In this paper, we propose a new technique for the calculation of Impact Factor for Research Publications. This method includes assessing the semantic content of the publications and excludes several issues of the existing traditional methods where impact factor calculation is based only on the citation factor. A different approach is handled in calculating the Impact Factor of research publications accounting author popularity, article¡¯s content analysis, article individuality and certain other factors including article¡¯s citation analysis. These joint factors are the likely considerations in assessing the quality of a journal via Impact factor which helps in research arena. %U http://ijidcs.org/issues/v2n1/ijidcs-13-102-108.pdf
