%X In the present article, the essential singularities of the dynamics of the process of civic formation in the university context from the professional and sociopolitical perspectives are exposed. The psychological, pedagogic and sociological assumptions which sustain the understanding of the university student civic formation as special phase of the continuous formative process are described. On the other hand, the condition of active agent of sociotransforming alternatives as quality that distinguishes the higher education students in their performance as citizens is precised. In the article, the proposal of a method for the civic formation sustained in the problematization of the university student's sociopolitical activism is presented, as well as the procedures that integrate the proposal. Finally, the main results reached in the educational experience of the implementation of the method at Universidad de Oriente are pointed out. RESUMENEn el presente art赤culo se exponen singularidades esenciales de la din芍mica del proceso de formaci車n ciudadana en el contexto universitario desde las perspectivas profesional y sociopol赤tica. Se refieren los presupuestos psicol車gicos, pedag車gicos y sociol車gicos que sustentan la comprensi車n de la formaci車n ciudadana del universitario como fase especial del proceso formativo continuo. De igual forma, se precisa la condici車n de activo gestor de alternativas sociotransformadoras como cualidad que distingue al estudiante de la educaci車n superior en su actuaci車n como ciudadano. En el art赤culo se fundamenta la propuesta de un m谷todo para la formaci車n ciudadana sustentado en la problematizaci車n del activismo sociopol赤tico del estudiante universitario, as赤 como se ilustran los procedimientos que integran el mismo. Finalmente, son rese ados los principales resultados alcanzados en la experiencia educativa de la implementaci車n del m谷todo en la Universidad de Oriente.
