%X This works discloses an initial discourse analysis about the discursive configuration of biographies. As main objective, it intends to identify the restrictions and the strategies of the genre above mentioned and it also tries to specify the elements of the sub genre journalistic biography. In order to, it intends a discursive analysis of the book Ariano Suassuna: um perfil biogr¨¢fico, based on Semiolinguistics Theory and using the concepts of biography from the journalist Sergio Vilas Boas. Through our analyses, it was possible to identify linguistic elements and also elements discursive and situational elements for the characterization of the biography.
