%X This essay is an analysis of the poem ¡°The Rain¡±, written by Ed Porto a poet from Para¨ªba. Some theoretical assumptions of the discipline ¡°Discourse Analysis¡± are used as main references to support our critical-analytical assessment of the corpus, which takes into account the expression of feelings and sensations of the poetic ¡°I¡± that are afforded by the falling rain which remind him certain facts and situations that were experienced in his birth land.
