%X Esta investigaci車n cualitativa, de corte exploratorio y descriptivo, fue realizada a trav谷s de observaciones de clase y entrevistas a profesores y estudiantes. Ella nos permiti車 caracterizar el uso de las TICE en el proceso de adquisici車n de la lengua, su papel en los aspectos de la flexibilizaci車n curricular y las potencialidades subutilizadas en el contexto. Concluimos que el uso que los actores hacen de Internet favorece el desarrollo de las competencias ling邦赤sticas; adem芍s, que se asiste a una transici車n en la profesi車n y la mentalidad de los profesores. Sin embargo, la formaci車n, el trabajo colaborativo y la investigaci車n son urgentes para que se reduzcan los problemas de subutilizaci車n del recurso. Asimismo, proponemos que la introducci車n de las TICE se aborde como una innovaci車n curricular y no meramente como una innovaci車n tecnol車gica. This qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study was based on class observations and interviews of students and teachers. This research led us to characterize the use of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Education inside the language acquisition process, their role within curricular flexibility, and their underused potentialities in the context of study. We conclude that the use of the Internet favors the development of linguistic competence, and that we are witnessing a transition of teachers' practices and beliefs. However, there is still an urgent need for preparation, collaborative work and research on ICTs in education to promote a more enriching use of the resources. Besides, we propose an introduction of ICTs in education as a curricular innovation and not only as a technological one.
