This treatment modality improves patients¡¯ dyspne scores, vital parameters, arterial blood gases, in addition to significantly decreasing the rates of intubation, nosocomial pneumonia and related mortality. Average Volume-Assured Pressure Support, (AVAPS) has been developed to ensure a more consistent tidal vol¨¹me (Vt) while delivering pressure support ventilation. We aim to present our two hypercapnic respiratory failure patient treated with the recently developed AVAPS mode, due to the promising results according to literature. %K Noninvasive positive-pressure ventilation %K obesity hypoventilation syndrome %K chronic obstructive pulmonary disease %K respiratory failure %K average volume-assured pressure support mode %U http://toraks.dergisi.org/text.php3?id=824
