%0 Journal Article %T Notes on access conditions and permanence of indigenous peoples in Brazilian higher education %A Mariana Paladino %J Pr¨˘xis Educativa %D 2012 %I Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa %X Current investigation presents an overview of the situation of indigenous higher education in Brazil, with special focus on policies implemented by the Brazilian government and on affirmative action programs for indigenous students by government universities. Foregrounded on field records and research, access conditions and permanence of indigenous students in Brazilian university are investigated. Students' demands, their main difficulties and experiences within the university context are also described and analyzed.
