%X Hormonal transformations that occur during the menopause may alter female sexual functions. About40% of menopausal women declare some sort of sexual issues. Estrogens, progestagens and testosteronedecrease plays significant role in sexual activity alteration. It is characterized by reduction of sex drive, aversionto sex, lack of arousal and pain during intercourse These conditions are often difficult to diagnose and treat.There are many possible solutions improving quality of life. Various studies confirm effectiveness of estrogensupplementation in menopausal symptoms treatment. Progestins are often added to estrogen regimens inorder to prevent endometrial hyperplasia. Androgen supplementation is associated with sexual function andsatisfaction improvement. Synthetic steroid, tibolon was proven to be effective in decrease of menopausalsymptoms as well as in sexual satisfaction increase. Because of variety of possibilities, optimal therapeuticeffect can be achieved only with individual approach towards patient treatment.
