%X Heart and head and The perception of the others, in the Italian translation proposed here, are two articles published by the Spanish philosopher Jos¨¦ Ortega y Gasset (1883-1955) in ¡°La Naci¨®n¡± of Buenos Aires in 1927 and 1929, respectively. From the dialogical writing of the intellectual who more deeply represented the need for revival and modernization of Spain in the half of the twentieth century, we are  introduced to very near to us issues such as: the reeducation to the values of a new humanism which offsets the confidence of the European man in technical progress and intellectual improvement; psychological ¨C visual ¨C processes as hermeneutic model; the problem of perception of the next establishing the dialectic between radical differences (the distance between different, opposite individuals, man and woman) and possible understanding of others. Cuore e testa e La percezione del prossimo, proposti qui in traduzione italiana, sono due articoli che il filosofo spagnolo Jos¨¦ Ortega y Gasset (1883-1955) pubblic¨° su ¡°La Naci¨®n¡± di Buenos Aires rispettivamente nel 1927 e 1929. Dalla scrittura dialogante dell¡¯intellettuale che pi¨´ profondamente rappresent¨° l¡¯esigenza di rinascita e modernizzazione nella Spagna della prima met¨¤ del Novecento, veniamo introdotti a questioni a noi vicinissime quali: la rieducazione ai valori di un nuovo umanesimo che controbilanci la fiducia dell¡¯uomo europeo nel progresso tecnico e nel perfezionamento intellettuale; i processi psicologici, visivi, come modello ermeneutico; il problema della percezione del prossimo che instaura la dialettica tra differenze radicali (le distanze tra i diversi, gli opposti, l¡¯uomo e la donna) e possibilit¨¤ di comprensione dell¡¯altro.
