%X How did the Soviet government's changing policy on religion, as well as its alliance with the United States during the Second World War, affect Americans' perceptions of the USSR? To explore this issue, this paper will provide a literature review of two religiously affiliated US magazines with some analysis of what their contributors had to say about the Soviet Union during the 1930s and 1940s.
