%0 Journal Article %T Edgar Allan Poe: The Raven e A Filosofia da Composi o %A Dalva Del Vigna %J Revista de Letras %D 2009 %I Catholic University of Brasilia %X This article aims to demonstrate how Edgar Allan Poe believes to have conscientiously appropriated the phonological knowledge of the English language to create his poem The Raven. Initially, this paper seeks to investigate the relationship between Phonology and Poetry. It also strives to show that the poet has certain conscious mastery over the way his language functions, which he appropriates while creating. The article also points out how this mastery is not noticeable in certain constructions of the poem.
