%X This article aims to analyze some syntax aspects observed in the book Os Sert es written by Euclides da Cunha. This work will focus the analysis on some points, such as: the sentence constructions, the punctuation, the verbal forms and the position of adjectives. Those aspects will receive sometimes a linguistic treatment; this means that such aspects will be explained using a theoretical contribution of some modern linguistic theories. We know, however, that the study of styles cannot be exhausted on the formal aspects of the composition.
