%X Taking into account the importance of Miguel Torga for the literary scenario, this paper proposes a reading of the critical fortune of the writer. To this end we used the concept of Horizon of Expectation and the idea of the Fusion of Horizons by Jauss and also Fredric Jameson¡¯s proposal of always historicizing. The need to record historical and socially some readings of Torga¡¯s work makes us better understand its role throughout time and also the relationship between the public, the work and the reader. Moreover, it has shown the change criticism has undergone and the reflections that were felt in the way of analyzing Torga¡¯s work.
