%0 Journal Article %T The Obama/Pentagon War Narrative, the Real War and Where Afghan Civilian Deaths Do Matter %A Marc W. Herold %J Revista de Paz y Conflictos %D 2012 %I %X This essay explores upon two inter-related issues: (1) the course of America¡¯s raging Afghan war as actually experienced on the ground as contrasted with the Pentagon and mainstream media narrative and (2) the unrelenting Obama/Pentagon efforts to control the public narrative of that war.[1] As the real war on the ground spread geographically and violence intensified, U.S. efforts to construct a positive spin re-doubled. An examination of bodies ¨C of foreign occupation forces and innocent Afghan civilians ¨C reveals a clear trade-off.
