%X A principios del siglo XX, los cuadros cat車licos de Bah赤a Bah赤a se acercan a los fieles de la ciudad y del entorno regional a trav谷s de varias publicaciones, mostrando su preocupaci車n por la "cuesti車n social" y emprendiendo la difusi車n de los postulados del catolicismo social como paliativo y como barrera ante el avance de fuerzas como el liberalismo, el socialismo, el anarquismo y el feminismo. Precisamente, la propuesta del presente art赤culo es identificar los contenidos atribuidos a este 迆ltimo, puesto que quienes escriben en los 車rganos de sensibilidad cat車lica emplean el t谷rmino al inmiscuirse en los debates sobre la denominada, de acuerdo con los c芍nones de la 谷poca, "cuesti車n de la mujer". Considerando que el periodismo, en su car芍cter de medio de comunicaci車n masiva, asume, entre otras, la funci車n de configuraci車n y difusi車n de representaciones de g谷nero, se postula que en los impresos mencionados el empleo del t谷rmino "feminismo" es polis谷mico, pudi谷ndose distinguir distintos significados seg迆n se intente definir en sentido cat車lico o se asocie a los movimientos que cuestionan la subalternidad femenina y bregan por el reconocimiento de los derechos de las mujeres. At the beginning of the 20th Century, the catholic groups in Bahia Blanca get closer to the faithful of the city and the general regional area through many publications, showing their preoccupation for the "social question" and starting the dissemination of the social catholic principles like a palliative and to stop the advance of forces like liberalism socialism, anarchism and feminism. The proposal of this article actually consists in identifying the contents of this last one, since those that write in the catholic media use this word when they get into the debate, according to the standards of that time, about the "woman question". Considering that journalism, in its character of a mass communication media, assumes, among others, the configuration and dissemination function of the gender representations, it is postulated that the use of the word "feminism" in the press in Bahia Blanca is polysemic, thus several different meanings can be distinguished depending if the word is used with a catholic meaning or is associated to the movements that question the feminim subordination and fight for the recognition of women rights.
