Na cidade de Ponta Grossa (PR), a coleta dos RSU teve in¨ªcio em 1969 e a disposi o final desses res¨ªduos era em um lix o, que foi transformado em aterro controlado no ano de 2001. Este estudo tem por objetivo, avaliar as caracter¨ªsticas de alguns pontos da camada superficial do solo localizado na base do agora aterro controlado do Botuquara, para verificar poss¨ªveis tend¨ºncias ¨¤ contamina o da ¨¢rea. Foram determinados pH, carbono organico, mat¨¦ria organica, nitrog¨ºnio total, rela o C:N, capacidade de troca cati nica, satura o de bases e teores de areia, argila e silte, al¨¦m da verifica o das concentra es de Ag, Cr, Cd, Cu Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb e Zn na forma de metais biodispon¨ªveis e pseudototais. Os resultados mostraram que o solo apresenta altas concentra es de Cr e Pb biodispon¨ªveis e Pb, Cu e Ag pseudototais. J¨¢ a satura o dos col¨®ides, indica que o solo atingiu sua capacidade m¨¢xima de reten o.AbstractCurrently, the production and storage of urban solid residues (USR) have generated a discussion range about aspects close to the diseases propagation and environment damage especially in the boundaries in which it is done improperly. Since, this may lead to the leached into the soil, causing its contamination as well as the groundwater contamination going deep in the groundwater. In Ponta Grossa, a city in the state of Paran¨¢ the final disposition place of the USR started out in 1969 and the final disposition of such waste was in a big dump, which become into a controlled landfill in 2001. The aim in this paper was to evaluate the characteristics of same earth points of the surface soil layer at the base of the now Botuquara¡¯s controlled landfill earthwork. It was checked in this area the possible trends of its contamination. It were accomplishing analyses of pH, organic carbon, organic matter, total nitrogen, C:N relation, cation exchange capacity, bases saturation and sand contents, clay and silt to the earth. It was also checked the concentration of Ag, Cr, Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn biodegradable metals and pseudo-total into the land. As a result it was show high concentration of Cr and Pb biodegradable and Pb, Cu and Ag pseudo-total.
