%X Este trabalho objetiva mapear a qualidade de vida urbana no munic¨ªpio de Pouso Alegre ¨C Minas Gerais. A metodologia utilizada consiste na elabora  o de tr¨ºs ¨ªndices: ¨ªndice de qualidade ambiental, ¨ªndice socioecon mico e ¨ªndice de educa  o, atrav¨¦s do sistema de recupera  o de informa  es georreferenciadas Estatcart e do Sistema de Informa  o Geogr¨¢fica ILWIS. Em seguida, estes tr¨ºs ¨ªndices s o combinados para gerar o ¨ªndice de qualidade de vida. Os resultados mostraram que as regi es que apresentam maiores ¨ªndices de qualidade de vida s o tamb¨¦m as ¨¢reas mais nobres da cidade. Por fim, foi poss¨ªvel evidenciar os locais onde h¨¢ maior necessidade de investimentos p¨²blicos. Mapping urban quality of life in Pouso Alegre, southern Minas Gerais Abstract: This paper aims to map the quality of urban life in the city of Pouso Alegre ¨C Minas Gerais. The adopted methodology consists in the elaboration of three indexes: environmental quality, socioeconomic index and education index, through the recovery system Estatcart and the Geographic Information System (GIS) ILWIS. Then, we combined these indexes for generating the synthetic map of quality of life. The results shows regions with higher levels of quality of life are also areas of the city's finest.
