River which is part of hydrological cycle is a trust area of concern for many Engineers, Hydrologist, Geomorphologist, and Geologist (Geoffrey L.Petts, 1983). In the recent past, fluvial geomorphologist meticulously worked to unravel several complexities of fluvial system. Since then numerous advanced statistical and mathematical methods have been applied to analyze and management of the drainage basin. Now a day some traditional management systems are very useful for sustainable development. Traditional water harvesting technology was based on an understanding of the constraints and impact of local ecology, geology, topographical formation. Today, we need to re-evaluate the traditional water systems to enable us to find answers to problems of inequity, non-sustainability that water management techniques have inflicted upon us. Need for a Water Resources Development and Management Plan because flooding in the Wainganga sub basin has been a major problem in the past. %K Traditional system %K sustainable development %K water resource. %U http://www.isrj.net/UploadedData/2358.pdf
