%0 Journal Article %T Ambivalent Modernity: the Jewish Population in Vienna %A Albert Lichtblau %J Quest : Issues in Contemporary Jewish History. %D 2011 %I Fondazione Centro di Documentazione Ebraica Contemporanea CDEC %X Vienna is regarded as an outstanding city for Jewish protagonists of modernity as the lives of Sigmund Freud and Theodor Herzl illustrate. Most of these individuals were migrants or had to escape Nazi persecution.
