We aimed in this disser-tation thesis on improvements in end-to-end communica-tion between two VANET nodes by means of proposinga new application-level communication protocol that isspecialised on transferring large object structures. In or-der to minimise size of transferred message, the protocolmakes use of the information about the structure thatboth communicating parties already share. The proto-col uses UDP as an end-to-end datagram transportationservice, because it is, according to our simulation results, more efficient than TCP. In order not to waste success-fully received datagrams, the proposed protocol uses ad-dressing that allows processing of independently receiveddatagrams and using their contents for reconstructing thetransferred message. In case of not receiving all the data-grams the message cannot be reconstructed completely, its missing parts are exactly denoted so that a receivingapplication is able to make use of at least the receivedpart. %K ad hoc %K VANET %K TCP %K UDP %K data encoding %K AdHocSim.FRI %U http://acmbulletin.fiit.stuba.sk/vol4num4/baca.pdf
