%X Resumo: Este artigo tem por objetivo discutir a configura  o e as atribui  es do Conselho Tutelar no contexto da Pol¨ªtica P¨²blica de Prote  o ¨¤ Crian a e ao Adolescente. O Conselho Tutelar ¨¦ organismo p¨²blico, de atua  o colegiada, permanente, aut nomo, n o jurisdicional e encarregado pela sociedade civil de zelar pelo cumprimento dos direitos da crian a e do adolescente. Atua conforme as atribui  es previstas no Estatuto da Crian a e do Adolescente, sempre que ocorrer viola  o de direito da crian a e do adolescente, por a  o ou omiss o da sociedade e do Estado, pela falta, omiss o ou abuso da fam¨ªlia e em raz o de sua conduta, aplicando medidas previstas nas mesmas atribui  es. Abstract: The present article aims at discussing the configuration and the attributions of the Guardianship Council in relation to the Public Policy of Protection of Children and Adolescents. The Guardianship Council is a collective, permanent, autonomous, and non-jurisdictional governmental organization responsible, via the civil society, for looking after and fulfilling the rights of children and adolescents. It acts according to the attributions established in the Statute of the Child and Adolescent whenever the rights of children and adolescents are violated, either by action or omission of the State or of the society, or by omission of the family or family abuse, taking the measures listed in the above-referred attributions.
