%X The role of selective I1 imidazoline receptor agonists and moxonidine in particular, in modern antihypertensive therapy is discussed. Moxonidine advantages, namely positive effects on insulin resistance, endothelial dysfunction, lipid profile, and plasma fibrinolytic activity are considered.
