%X Cette contribution s¡¯interroge sur la forte coh¨¦rence observ¨¦e au niveau des comportements professionnels et priv¨¦s d¡¯un petit ¨¦chantillon de viticulteurs alsaciens que nous avons interview¨¦s longuement. On s¡¯attache d¡¯abord ¨¤ d¨¦crire ces comportements et ¨¤ identifier les principes ¨¤ partir desquels les acteurs les justifient. On propose ensuite deux hypoth¨¨ses susceptibles de rendre compte de la coh¨¦rence constat¨¦e. La premi¨¨re sugg¨¨re que cette coh¨¦-rence est en partie construite par le discours des interview¨¦s. La seconde s¡¯interroge sur les m¨¦canismes de socialisation. Trois m¨¦canismes sont iden-tifi¨¦s : les tensions identitaires que les personnes ressentent lorsqu¡¯elles s¡¯¨¦car-tent des principes ¨¦voqu¨¦s ; les contr les, formels et surtout informels, qu¡¯elles exercent les unes sur les autres ; la hi¨¦rarchie qui s¡¯instaure dans le champ de la viticulture biologique, en raison pr¨¦cis¨¦ment de la plus ou moins forte coh¨¦-rence des comportements. On montre que ces m¨¦canismes combinent leurs effets pour produire une socialisation puissante et uniforme, qui fait des viti-culteurs biologiques interview¨¦s des individus beaucoup plus int¨¦gr¨¦s que ce que pr¨¦disent des th¨¦ories sociologiques qui mettent en avant la diversit¨¦, ou encore l¡¯¨¦clatement de l¡¯exp¨¦rience de l¡¯individu contemporain. This contribution looks at the strong level of coherence observed in the behaviours, both professional and private, of a small sample of Alsatian winegrowers whom we interviewed at length. First there is an attempt at describing these behaviours and identifying the principles by which the actors justify them. We then propose two hypotheses liable to account for the coherence observed. The first suggests that this coherence is in part constructed out of the speech of the interviewees. The second asks about the socialization mechanisms. Three mechanisms are identified : the identitary tensions these people feel when they abandon the principles evoked ; the controls, formal and above all informal, that they exert on one another ; the hierarchy installed in the field of organic winegrowing, due precisely to this more or less reinforced coherence in behaviours. We show that these mechanisms combine their effects in producing a powerful and uniform socialization, which makes the organic winegrowers interviewed much more integrated individuals than what sociological theories advancing the diversity or, perhaps, the bursting forth of the experience of the contemporary individual, would have predicted.
