We aim to show, as does Fernando Gil, the contiguous structure present in the assertion of the existence of essences and the assertion about the existence of sovereignty. To be able to say that sovereignty exists, we should first be able to think something beyond which nothing can be thought of, such as the existence of God. However, beyond the research of Fernando Gil, we shall examine the thesis of Thomas about the frighten and trembling as the basis of political authority. The questions we ask ourselves derive from the issues of AnselmĄ¯s about those who know of the existence of God, but do not feel God is as follows: can sovereignty be established only in the ontological argument, on the argument of causation from fear and trembling, or is sovereignty necessarily founded on the double articulation between knowledge, logical and ontological, and the production strategies of frighten and trembling? This is to ultimately postulate: the sovereignty, rather than being related to the infinite, should not be related to the idea of the unlimited? If proof of the existence of essences imposes God to be found in the infinite, should not sovereignty be founded on the concept of the unlimited? What would the distinction between the infinite and the unlimited be? Once sovereignty is related to the idea of unlimited, it could it be the basis of authority? %K Anselm %K Fernando Gil %K Political Authority %U http://revista.estudoshumeanos.com/da-instituicao-do-temor-e-do-tremor/
