El reconocimiento de los derechos humanos en la pol赤tica exterior de un estado tambi谷n deriva de ejercicios de socializaci車n interna e internacional y, en ocasiones, es el producto de decisiones racionales estrat谷gicas. Este art赤culo presenta un modelo de an芍lisis para examinar el papel de los derechos humanos en la definici車n de la pol赤tica exterior de la Uni車n Europea y de sus estados miembros. Este trabajo es una versi車n resumida de un proyecto de investigaci車n realizado bajo la supervisi車n del Profesor Jack Donnelly en la Universidad de Denver, bajo el t赤tulo Human Rights in Foreign Policy in and of the European Union: A Model of Analysis. The influence of human rights in foreign policy should not be seen only as a matter of national identity. The recognition of human rights in foreign policy may also be the result of domestic and international processes of socialisation, and it can also be the product of strategic rational decisions. This article presents a model of analysis to assess the role of human rights in the definition of the foreign policy of the European Union and its Member States. This is an abbreviated version of a research project carried out under Professor Jack Donnelly＊s supervision at the University of Denver: Human Rights in Foreign Policy in and of the European Union: A Model of Analysis.
