%X This study aims to identify homophobia against gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders who use the Brazilian public health care system for prevention and treatment of STD/HIV/AIDS. It is an analytic exploratory qualitative study, among patients from the LGTB group in the city of Porto Alegre/Brazil. Results are presented according to the following categories: (a) Access to the public health care system; (b) Evaluation of the system; (c) Equality and specialization for the LGBT public; (d) Reception, humanization and integrality; (e) Discrimination and prejudice against LGBT group; and, (f) Suggestions to improve the system. We stress that homophobia is present in the patients' talk, especially related to their HIV status and gender identity issues.
