This paper discusses a new approach for Partitioning in VLSI design which is based on the Swarm Intelligence. Swarm Intelligence is a new technique of Artificial Intelligence which is totally inspired by real world insects. Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) approach is dealt in this paper. It is similar to Evolutionary algorithm which focuses on the Engineering aspect of development and applications. This paper out-lines the Ant Colony Optimization technique for Partitioning in VLSI design. The proposed algorithm is expected to be superior both in terms of quality and consistency of the solutions obtained.
