%X Regional convergence depends on the ability to adopt advanced technology. This ability can be reflected on the resources devoted to science and technology. An empirical examination of this proposition suggests that technology adoption has a significant effect in regional convergence in Europe. The empirical analysis is also shown to have important implications for the direction of regional policy in Europe.
