A system is a collection, set, or arrangement of elements (subsystems). A control system is an interconnection of components forming a system configuration that will provide a desired system response. Imparting this knowledge effectively to a large group of graduate students is even more challenging. So it is believed that the Simulation tool like MATLAB helps extending student reach, improving productivity and keeping students involved in the learning of control system. This paper discuss the main topics of control system like mathematical model of physical system, feedback characteristics of control system, time and frequency response analysis, concept of stability, root locus technique and state variable analysis using Matlab and simulink.Whenever a system is designed such that the dynamic behaviour of an initial process is intentionally altered to achieve some desired performance, then we have a control system. The user of the system does not focus on the control system, but rather on the desired result. Thus, control systems are invisible. It is well recognised that control system plays a pivotal roles in all the field of engineering & technology such as mechanical system, electrical system, biomedical system and thermal system and control system discipline is taught in under graduate and post graduate curriculum across the world in any engineering educational institute. As an experience while teaching the control system it is observed that students frequently face difficulties in learning control system; as it uses the properties of complex variables and the fundamentals of linear algebra in a sophisticated manner. The concepts of modelling, designing and analysing the behaviour of control systems are extremely challenging. %U http://www.journals.rgsociety.org/index.php/ijai/article/view/48
