AIS is inspired by biological immune system functions, i.e. Clonal Selection Algorithm (CSA), Negative Selection Algorithm (NSA), Immune Network Algorithms (INA), Dendritic Cell Algorithm (DCA). Many biological system¡¯s functions like classification and clustering of protein, amino acids and micro-array, and pattern recognition of microbial cell surface markers may be simulated with the help of combination of soft computing techniques and AIS. This paper investigates many such applications like strengthening of protein coding regions by using CSA, data mining of proteins using NSA & DCA algorithms and clustering of micro-array by multi-objective AIS. Experimental evidences of these applications further validate the algorithms. Hence, these applications are being considered as basis of most of the important domains of bioinformatics which leads to a conclusion that AIS is a potential tool for such modeling and predictions. %K Artificial Immune system (AIS) %K Clonal Selection Algorithm (CSA) %K Negative Selection Algorithm (NSA) %K Immune Network Algorithms (INA) %K Dendritic Cell Algorithm (DCA) %K classification and clustering of proteins %K micro-array and amino acids. %U http://www.journals.rgsociety.org/index.php/ijai/article/view/270
