%X The inhibitory effects of methanol 70% extracts of Ailanthusaltissima and Ailanthus excelsa stem bark on streptozotocin(ST)¨Cinduced diabetic mellitus were studied using ST¨Ctreated diabeticmodel. Ailanthus altissima and Ailanthus excelsa stem bark extracts havea good effect on ATP/ADP ratio and also Ailanthus altissima andAilanthus excelsa stem bark extracts at concentration 200 ¦Ìg/ml showedan increase in insulin production in pancreatic islet cells.
