%X Present paper approach the issue of assessing the water quality of tributaries located in the upper basin of the river Mure , taking into account changes in the value of biotic indices. In this sense, have been selected the next five biotic indices: Ephemeroptera Plecoptera Trichoptera index (EPT), Total Invertebrates index (T), Chironomidae index (Ch), EPT / Total invertebrates index (EPT / T), EPT / Chironomidae index (EPT / Ch) and % Chironomidae index (% Chironomidae). Considering all these indices, it was found existence of a medium to best quality water in Mure  tributaries from Harghita Mountains and a good quality water which comes from the Maramure  Mountains and Transylvania Plateau.
