The drawbacks/breakthroughs encountered when going on the way of a greener approach are discussed. Examples of recent achievements are presented. %K cationic photopolymerization %K radical photopolymerization %K photoinitiators %K visible light sources %K soft irradiation conditions %K sunlight exposure %K LED %K laser diodes %K household lamps %K halogen lamps %K renewable monomers %U http://www.mdpi.com/2076-3417/3/2/490
