%X This article summarises the interesting and important work of bringing Spain closer to the United States, through the New York newspaper La Prensa and its owner and chairman, Jos¨¦ Camprub¨ª. Mar¨ªa de Maeztu, Conchita Piquer and Jacinto Benavente visited New York and this is analysed in detail. Jos¨¦ Camprub¨ª¡äs life, education and attitude give him a very important position inside the Hispanism in New York during the first half of the last century.
