%X The diffusion of the plays of Shakespeare in Spain has made possible that the parodists concentrate on them as source of inspiration for their recreations. One of the most singular cases is the parody that Pedro Mu oz Seca realizes in La venganza de don Mendo of the English classic drama Hamlet. The parodist focuses his attention in the characteristics of the tragedy of revenge, which succumb to the parodic point of view, and develops the motive of the Hamlet¡¯s doubt, associated with the revenge, with a sincere playful objective. We will expose and exemplify the above mentioned process of parodic recreation, whose result is the appreciation of the English classic drama on the one hand and, for other one, an interesting exercise of theatrical skill in the area of the humor.
