In Romania, the mosttrout farms prefer to import the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) by embryonated eggs which canbe marketed in a production cycle of 8-12 months. Given that the imported embryonated eggs comefrom various crosses and they are single or multi-racial hybrids, usually female, we decided to performan economic analysis of the business of producing eggs for consumption in the trout farm. To understandin which measure, activity of production of trout eggs for consumption can be an efficient economicactivity in a trout farm, it was necessary to determine the zero limit of profitability.
