%X Two dibenzylbutane lignans, dihydroguairetic acid and austrobailigan-6 were isolated as mixture of their diastereoisomers from the bark ethanolic extract of Dugandiodendron argyrotrichum (Magnoliaceae), a colombian endangered species. Characterization was achieved by 1H and 13C NMR, DEPT, COSY, HMQC, HMBC and GCMS analysis. The diastereoisomer separation by GC and the diastereospecific fragmentation patterns in negative chemical ionization mass spectrometry (NCI-MS) spotlights on an interesting tool for stereochemical research.Dos lignanos dibencilbutanicos, el 芍cido dihidroguaiar谷tico y el austrobailignano-6, se aislaron como mezclas de sus diastereois車meros, del extracto etan車lico de la corteza de Dugandiodendron argyrotrichum (MAGNOLIACEAE), una especie colombiana en peligro de extinci車n. La caracterizaci車n se realiz車 mediante an芍lisis de espectros 1H- y 13C-NMR, DEPT, COSY, HMQC, HMBC y GCMS. La separaci車n de los diastereois車meros por GC y los patrones de fragmentaci車n en espectrometr赤a de masas por ionizaci車n qu赤mica negativa (NCI-MS) enfoca la atenci車n en una interesante herramienta para la investigaci車n estereoqu赤mica.
