%X The objective of this research is to analyze the concept of childhood for the elite society specially politicians and the rich people of Costa Rica and based on this, assess the presence of control mechanisms, that were made to these people. At the same time it tackles the presence of the Catholic Church in Costa Rican society and more specifically in the care provided to abandoned children. The research will use both official sources (legislation and press) and Catholic Church's documents.
