%0 Journal Article %T Express es de vida: atitudes perante a morte na Capitania de Goi¨¢s setecentista %A Deuzair Jos¨¦ da Silva %J Revista Tempo, Espa£¿o e Linguagem %D 2010 %I Universidade Estadual do Centro Oeste %X This article focuses on the attitude towards death in the state ofGoi¨¢s in the 18th century, supported by cultural history and regional history studies. Documents from projects and sororities such as Projeto Resgate and Compromisso das Irmandades, as well as Pastoral visitation documents, Pastoral letters, provisions, certificates, and memoranda. The documents imply that the population had established a series of acts in treating death and post-mortem developed mostly by the Church and third-party sororities which, by acting and controlling funeral actions, granted the power to interferestrongly in the daily life of this society, giving special attention to Catholicism. %K Death %K Ritual %K Symbol %K Life %U http://www.revistas2.uepg.br/index.php/tel/article/view/2626/1968
