However, from Socrates and the consolidation of philosophy as a system of knowledge in antiquity and later the rise of modern science have made the world view essentially rational, cartesian, enlightenment and objectively; disregarding and ignoring the existence of any other types of knowledge. Our objective in this study is to analyze the Indian tales ¡°The Legend of Iara¡± and ¡°Cobra Norato¡± not in an attempt to establish some kind of explanation in logical reasoning formulated by philosophy and science, but to undertake an examination of the folk tradition and view the existence of tragics elements and a tragic vision of the world. %K Brazilian Legend %K Tragic %K Folklore %U http://www.revistas2.uepg.br/index.php/tel/article/view/2646/1988
